We're here to help.

Use this page for installing the app, pairing an Apple TV, playback, your account, or anything else you hit while using Pawse.ai.

Getting started

The short version. Set up your dog's profile, choose where the sound plays, and run one real session with a rating at the end.

Sleep is free. Premium unlocks the other four environments, the full behaviour analytics and the Apple TV app. The learning that adapts to your dog runs on every session, free or Premium.

Install from the App Store

  • Download Pawse.ai on your iPhone or iPad. Either one runs every session.

Pawse.ai arrives on the App Store in September, for iPhone and iPad.

  • Pawse.ai is the same app on iPhone and iPad, so install it on whichever you use. For sound that carries on after you leave the room, add an Apple TV.

  • Use the same Apple Account on your iPhone and iPad, so your dog's profile and Premium carry across both.
  • Apple TV. Download Pawse.ai from the App Store on the Apple TV itself, then pair it with the code it shows. Pair Apple TV, below, walks through it.

Keeping the app updated

  • Updates come through the App Store. Turn on automatic updates, or open the App Store, tap your profile, and update Pawse.ai from there.
  • Update on every device you use with the app, so the iPhone, Apple TV, and iPad stay on the same version.
  • Your version is at the bottom of Settings, and on the Apple TV's pairing screen.

Before your first session

The home screen on iPhone
  • Start on your iPhone or iPad. It holds your dog's profile, the session controls and the ratings.
  • Create a dog profile. Add your dog's name, breed or mix, and age. The app uses this to personalise the sound engine from the first session.
  • Start with one real moment. Sleep, Home Alone, Loud Noise, Travel or Vet Visit. One situation you actually face tells you more than trying them all at once.
  • Use the room and the speaker you will actually rely on at home.

Device setup

Pawse.ai runs entirely on an iPhone or an iPad, and either one plays the sound itself. Adding an Apple TV changes one thing. It plays the session independently, so the sound stays in the room with your dog after you leave.

Play on iPhone

  • The quickest start. Nothing to pair. Play through the iPhone speaker or a Bluetooth speaker connected to it.
  • AirPlay is free. Send the sound to a HomePod or any AirPlay speaker with the AirPlay button in Settings.
  • With AirPlay or Bluetooth the sound comes from the phone, so keep it nearby. It keeps playing with the screen locked.

Pair Apple TV

  • Pairing needs Premium and Sign in with Apple, because the Apple TV plays your dog's profile from your account.
  • Open Pawse.ai on your Apple TV. The app opens directly to a pairing screen labelled HOME DEVICE showing a large 8-character code.
  • On your iPhone, open Pawse.ai and go to Settings, then Apple TV. Tap Pair an Apple TV and enter the code shown on the television.
  • The Apple TV will then play a sound to set the room level. Adjust the TV volume to a comfortable level for the room and tap This level is right. This becomes the reference volume for all sessions. Do not change TV volume after confirming.
  • The Apple TV shows Ready and waits for sessions from your iPhone or iPad. Leave Pawse.ai open on it, because it only listens while it is on screen.
  • If the code has changed, go to Settings, then Apple TV on your iPhone, and pair again. Enter the new code shown on screen.

Using an iPad

  • There is nothing to pair. Pawse.ai is one app for iPhone and iPad, and the iPad runs all of it. The dog profile, every environment, the sessions and the analytics.
  • Download it from the App Store on the iPad and sign in with the same Apple Account. Your dog and their history are already there.
  • Play straight from the iPad, or send its audio to a HomePod or any speaker with AirPlay.
  • An iPad and an iPhone are interchangeable. Start a session on either, and the learning carries across both because it lives with the dog's profile, not the device.
Start by playing from the iPhone or iPad. Once that works, pair an Apple TV.

Running a session

Start a session in the real moment. Sleep when your dog is ready to rest, Home Alone as you leave. Sleep in the middle of the zoomies, or Home Alone with you next to the speaker, tells you very little.

Give it time. Choose a duration that fits the moment before you start, then step away.

Start the right mode

  • Sleep. Wind down and settle for rest, at bedtime or overnight.
  • Home Alone. Ease the quiet while you're away. Start it as you leave.
  • Loud Noise. For thunder, fireworks and sudden bangs outside.
  • Travel. For the car, or time in the crate on the move.
  • Vet Visit. For the wait at the clinic and the time afterwards.

During playback

What you'll see during a session
  • Check Playing on before you start, so the session runs where you mean it to.
  • Place the speaker in the same room, roughly at your dog's level and not pointed straight at them. Closer is better than louder.
  • Watch your dog. Settling down, slower breathing, less pacing and fewer trips to the door are what to look for, and they are what you rate afterwards.
  • With AirPlay the sound comes from your iPhone or iPad, so keep it nearby. A paired Apple TV plays on its own, and you can leave.

After the session

Feedback screen asking How did your dog respond with three options
The feedback screen
  • When the session ends, the app and the Lock Screen ask how your dog responded.
  • Rate every session. Visibly calmer, No change or Still unsettled. That rating is how Pawse.ai adapts to your dog. Skip it and nothing changes. If you were out, choose I wasn't there.
  • Rate what you saw, not what you hoped for. Did they settle, pant less, stop pacing? An honest rating is worth more than a kind one.
  • Use the same environment more than once. It learns across sessions, not from one.
